Chelsea are currently nearing the deal of signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer as transfer swagger emerges.

The Blues held talks with Brentford to sign Ivan Toney last summer but weren’t able to complete the deal due to the early return of the player from a ban for breaking the Premier League betting rules.

Ivan Toney returned to the squad in mid-January and has been brilliant so far, though unable to take on good form. Last season, Ivan was able to rank among the top goal scorers in the league, just a few points below the city’s goal scorer, Erling Haaland.

Though he has failed to impress his manager recently, Chelsea will still hunt to sign the bees star ahead of Arsenal, who were reportedly close to signing him last summer as well.

Ivan Toney could be a perfect option for the Blues, as the Englishman is seen to be able to play many roles within the forward line.

A combination of Toney and Cole Palmer, who are flourishing recently along with Madueuke, will help maintain the forward line in scoring in almost all the games.

This is one of the methods Chelsea could use in order to break out of the top fighters dominance and register their resilence in the Premier League standings next season.

He told Kick: “Toney has been very anxious lately: ‘I would keep the name Ivan Toney for Chelsea. I’ve seen some reports in the last few days that Toney will be loaned to Arsenal.

“Guys, what I have heard is that Brentford want significant money; only a significant proposal can change the story for Ivan Toney. So I don’t see a simple deal, a loan deal, or that kind of thing. It has to be a significant offer and a significant negotiation for Ivan Toney.

“What I hear is that Chelsea values the player. Chelsea values the player, but they haven’t started any negotiations. Arsenal is not working for Toney at the moment. He is not a priority target for the gunners.

“What I also hear—this is more from the player’s side and the player’s camp—is that Ivan Toney would like very, very much to join Chelsea. He really likes the Chelsea project, Chelsea as a club, and West London as an environment.

“So Chelsea would be a really tempting option for Ivan Toney, who could be very keen on it.”

The 28-year-old has been able to secure 72 goals in 144 appearances, making him a good option for the Blues to secure their forward line.

Ivan Toney earlier opted to really wish to play for the West Londoners even this next season, and Chelsea may probably dash in to secure his signature at Stamford Bridge.
