Chelsea News: Chelsea can afford the asking price for 'one of the hottest strikers in the world'," but the club may be willing to lower it.

Chelsea are set to bolster their defense with another no. 9 to assist Nicolas Jackson, and there have been so many options this summer.

Initially, Chelsea made claims of signing Alexander Isak earlier this summer and has further made new plans on how to sign him without entangling the club with financial crises.

It's been reported that Newcastle valued Isak for a release clause of over £100 million, and this has kept the deal pending till now.

However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio, reports have claimed that Chelsea may likely complete the deal that Newcastle made, including a swap option.

According to Football Transfers, the Magpies have set their starting price for Isak at £110 million, which would represent a club-record fee for Chelsea.

The report then goes on to claim that the Blues can afford to match Newcastle’s asking price, but they are likely to prioritize a move in midfield instead.

Newcastle may also be willing to lower their asking price for Isak if Chelsea include Conor Gallagher in the deal, but the report says they’re reluctant to let him leave.

Isak would be an incredible signing for Chelsea.

Isak has made a name for himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and in the world.

“Who wouldn’t want to take Isak?” Tony Cascarino said this on TalkSPORT in May.

“He is a dangerous striker; he has a lot of ability; he is quick; and he is a very good finisher, especially in one-on-ones. He is one of the best out there."

Meanwhile, The Athletic’s Newcastle correspondent Chris Waugh told the Brentford website in May: “Isak is one of the hottest strikers in the world at the moment, and his form in 2024 has been phenomenal.

“His record is brilliant for Newcastle, and he has got a bit of everything: he is an excellent finisher, ice cool, and is showing why the club invested all the money they did in him.”

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will move for him, and at that price, but this is certainly one to watch over the coming weeks.
