Chelsea are exploring a potential deal for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. The 24-year-old, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, travelled to Brighton for their second Premier League match of the season on Saturday, but was left out of the squad.

Rumours have circulated over his future at United despite Erik ten Hag 'drawing a line' under their furious row which saw him exiled and sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund last season. Sancho came on for the final seven minutes of the Community Shield against Manchester City, but hasn't featured in the top flight so far.

Now, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea are considering a shock move for Sancho, with the Blues expected to rival Juventus for his signature. It's understood Chelsea's proposal could include a player going the other way, as they attempt to get players off the books before the end of the transfer window.

Juventus, on the other hand, want to sign the England international on loan. United would prefer to let Sancho leave on a permanent deal but loan has not been ruled out. Sancho, who joined United for £73m back in 2021, has two years left on his contract and the club are keen to recoup around half of the amount they paid for him.

If Chelsea are to complete a deal for Sancho, it's said that the Blues need to offload as many as six players before a move becomes feasible for them, with the club still pursuing a striker this summer. Raheem Sterling is among those that could be put forward in a possible loan deal, having fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has exiled the likes of Sterling and Ben Chilwell as he tries to balance the sheer scale of his squad. Speaking earlier this week, Maresca said in a press conference: "They (Sterling and Chilwell) are training apart. We have a big squad and it is impossible to give them all minutes. If they are looking for minutes, then it is better if they leave. If they do not leave, then they have a contract here and they are Chelsea players."

Despite this, the Blues recorded their first Premier League victory of the season with a 6-2 success at Wolves on Sunday. Noni Madueke helped fire Chelsea to three points with a fine second-half hat-trick, with Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and Joao Felix also finding the net.
