Chelsea are now more likely to sign a new striker before deadline day after agreeing to sell Romelu Lukaku to Napoli. The Belgian has been keen to get out of Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis for several years now but having finally seen a fee settled for his services, it's go time for everyone.

Napoli have always been keen to ensure they don't end up with Lukaku and Osimhen on the books next season, and although he isn't tangibly any closer to an exit, this could see things shift again. According to Sky Sports more talks over a move for Osimhen are set to continue after the Lukaku issue was solved.

Chelsea would prefer a loan, as it stands, but that is not deemed acceptable by Antonio Conte's side, even with the prospect of an option/obligation to buy included. The Nigerian has an £85million valuation plus enormous wages. Lukaku could end up banking Chelsea almost £40million of that with a £25million initial package plus another £10million in add-ons being finalised.
